AIRE Air Mask Charger — A Breathable Charger Concept

11

João Paulo Lammoglia

João Paulo Lammoglia, a designer from Rio de Janeiro have come up with a concept of a charger that’s powered by human breath. As the name suggests, the user would wear the charger as a mask as shown, and the device would charge whenever the wearer breaths.

The proposed design would have miniaturized wind-turbines in the AIRE mask unit that would convert energy from every breath to charge a device. So technically, your lungs would be powering your phone or any other devices.

No one cared who I was until I put on the mask…

This is a clever design that is more applicable when the user is performing an intense physical activity like a regular workout or running session. If such a device exists, it would reduce carbon footprints from traditional charging a bit.

In addition to that, this could potentially motivate couch potatoes to do some actual work at least once, in a desperation to charge a device when there is no other power source available.

Harnessing energy from human activities is a domain that still needs an efficient solution. Concepts and designs like AIRE Mask, gives the right motivation for exploration.

  1. it seems to be a great concept and probably one of the greatest inventions of all time. But could this create any side effects on breathing capabilities ? Could this mask be used on daily basis ? Well what an unbelievable invention!

I think it’s a Good idea, but can i recharge other objects Like batteries.
Also , can we use when we sleep ? because ,
i am lazy like that i don’t need to do sport .

  3. I think it’s a good idea but how would it work with people who have breathing problems like asthma ?
When we do sports, we need more air than rest. So, can we use it when we do sports ?

  4. Does the manufacture of this device not pollute more than the carbon footprint of traditional human charges? However the concept is very innovative, I encourage such research !

  5. Seems pretty interesting however if we are talking about reducing the carbon footprints then is it sure that the pollution created by the mask production will be rentabilized by the energy it produce? Difficult to think that our breath can produce that much energy.

Has the charger hit the shelfs yet?

  7. Interesting!

  8. Does the breath-charger has any design(inside the mask) thats more specific, pls reply, important

  9. Is the mask charger launched yet?

  10. Could u plz give that device details
