The right click method opens a non-elevated command prompt too. But in either cases, windows don’t offer an easy way to elevate the command prompt quickly from inside a non elevated console. You could use the runas command to achieve it. But then you will have to use cd to get back to the working directory. The sudo equivalent in Windows don’t exist!
Instead of using shift + right click to open a command prompt inside a directory, you can simply type cmd in the explorer’s address bar once you are in the directory.
Emergency calls can be made even without the SIM cards.
Looks good Karthik! Well done. I like my badge by the way. Thanks.
Glad I could help! :) Happy holidays!
I just reproduced the issue. This is clearly a botched update! I suggest you try to uninstall the app from the storage menu then.
- Storage > This Device > Apps & Games.
- Long press Telegram and uninstall.
This worked for me on 920! If you still can’t uninstall it, contact Telegram support (not Windows support!) before you go the hard reset way.
I hope you have rebooted the phone and repeated the process! Have you tried a soft reset? The error code isn’t helpful in this case (although I can see threads with the similar issues).
Glad it worked. For my 920, I did a hard reset and chose not to update the camera app. I am still on Lumia’s factory camera app and it performs better than the Windows camera app.
It can be done! But you have to hack the registry a bit to do that.
- Download Interop Tools
- Go to Settings > Extras > Interop Tools > Registry Browser
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/OEM/Nokia/Camera/Barc
- Change the
IsEnabledfield to0to disable post processing
Perhaps the only way to truly get rid of this worthless feature is to put it out in the feedback app! I have a link around, I will update it when I get to my phone.
You really had tried it all! This is a very good overview! There are still a few things you can try.
- Try power cycling the modem (I suppose you might have done this already!)
- Try booting the system in safe mode with networking and check if the issue can be reproduced
- Check for any firmware updates for your modem
Incase you haven’t tested other devices, do that. If the DNS fails on other devices too, then it’s more likely an issue with your router or ISP.
Wow! Am I too late to this party? Look’s neat.
Hi. Welcome to Geekswipe Curiosity. You can disable this by creating a registry key. Open regedit and navigate to this: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinDefend. Create a new key with a name DisableRealtimeMonitoring and value as 1.
You also can do this directly from within PowerShell with the command: Set-MpPreference -DisableRealtimeMonitoring $true
I assume this is a shared hosting platform? If you have a cPanel/WHM dashboard, you can visualize logs in Webalizer.
You are not alone! Pragmatically speaking, life is fantastically meaningless. This is how I see it: we are literally on a rock that orbits a ticking bomb! Either it is going to eat us all in 5 billion years or humanity will end itself in a few thousand hundred years. All in all this is the best time to live.
Glad it works :) I think yours is a fresh installation of Windows 10. I am not sure if that is the reason, but I experienced it on a clean installation as well.
Had the same issue. Turning on file and printer sharing from advanced sharing settings fixed it for me. Make sure you turn off and turn on your Bluetooth in your phones after saving the changes. If possible reboot your PC and try again. Let me know if this works.
Note that there are a few issues with batch file executions on W10.
This might be irrelevant here. Yet, I’m leaving these info for anyone who might not have noticed it.
Windows phone – Quite hours
Android – Priority Mode
iOS – Do Not Disturb
I have the same on my WP. /r/photography with 2 hrs update interval. Flickr and Bing are my other options.
@karthikeyankc, I think so. Better not mess with the registry until Windows 10 is stable.
Thanks for this Sarav! This is the best hack so far. But in my edition, the DWM tree is totally different from this.

Inactive accent color works fine for me thou.
You both pretty much summed up all the best movies. Here are some left out movies, which I like.
- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
- Planet of the Apes franchise
- Dune
- The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
- WarGames
- 9
- Short Circuit
Can you uninstall it and install again?
