Cannot uninstall or update Telegram App on Windows 10 Mobile
Hi again! I tried updating Telegram this weekend, but the update failed with an error code 0x8000000e. After the failed update Telegram app crashes when trying to open. Cannot uninstall either. Help me @billymathews!
I hope you have rebooted the phone and repeated the process! Have you tried a soft reset? The error code isn’t helpful in this case (although I can see threads with the similar issues).
I have tried everything except a hard reset.
I just reproduced the issue. This is clearly a botched update! I suggest you try to uninstall the app from the storage menu then.
- Storage > This Device > Apps & Games.
- Long press Telegram and uninstall.
This worked for me on 920! If you still can’t uninstall it, contact Telegram support (not Windows support!) before you go the hard reset way.
